A poem by Ingrid Mayes

An Artist’s Lockdown
Even though we are unable to meet
This nasty little virus will not have us beat
Throughout the streets of the Bay
We are working night & day
We shall continue to paint with our easels & brushes Knitting needles clacking, through our massive yarn stashes Studios been tidied, hoovered and cleaned
Oh! My favourite brush! Where have you been!
Cameras are clicking, out on our walks
Sunsets and flowers and bugs on stalks
That half-finished cross stitch dug out of storage
And time to make things out of stuff that’s been foraged
So don’t be down heartened and just make a start
Do something creative........ Hurrah for Art!
